A popular trend among scrapbookers now are scrapbooking rooms. If you are serious about your scrapbooking hobby, then you probably have a lot of scrapbooking supplies. To maximize your time and allow for your creativity to flow, it is essential to get yourself organized. Scrapbooking rooms allow that to happen.

You can turn an entire room into a special space for scrapbooking, or just a corner of a room if space is limited. A flexible work surface is the first element as you will need a space to create pages and scrapbooks on. A desk could also be the ticket.

In addition to a work surface proper lighting is important. If you do not have adqueate natural lighting, (through windows) or if you like to scrapbook at night, then you will to invest in some lamps and lighting to make sure you can see whiel working.

Next is a method for storing cardstock and papers. Depending upon how much paper you have, you will need a way to store the larger 12 x 12 sheets as well as the smaller sizes. You can do this rhought stackabpe paper trays, vertical file units, hanging file folders.

Another area for storage will include small containers or drawers for storing embellishments, ribbons, brads, paper clips, etc. These are small. The small cubby type divider units work well for these type of scrapbooking supplies.

Journaling pens and pencils will also need proper storage as do the rubber stamps and the ink pads. Another idea is to pegboards to store supplies which makes them easy to see and find. Rolling carts can be used to hold supplies and then relocated to areas of the room when needed.

Your scrapbooking room will most likely be a work in progress because as an avid scrapbooker, you will be constantly adding to your inventory. By planning ahead with organizational strategies, your scrapbooking room can be one that can grow with you.
