At first, it’s best to start with easy projects to build up your self confidence and then you can slowly progress to more complicated pages.

To begin you will need to pick a theme. Decide what your scrapbook will be about. It can be for a certain time period (say for 1 year) or for a specific event such as baby’s first birthday party. By choosing your theme now, it will help you to gather the photos required to make your scrapbook pages.

Next, arrange your photos in order of how you will use them. It is best to keep the individual pages focuses on one or two pictures around a similar theme. For example if your scrapbook is about baby’s first birthday party, the pages would be ordered around guests arriving, party games, blowing out the candles, opening presents, playing with toys. Determining an order for the scrapbook album allows it to flow smoothly.

Now you will actually build the pages. Crop your photos if needed. When you are first starting out don’t worry about fancy cuts or photos edges. Just use simple cardstock frames . You may wish to use copies of your photos when making your scrapook album so you’ll have the originals to use in other scrapbook pages.

Before actually glueing down the photos, lay them out to determine their placement. Only after you have decided on a finished layout should you actually use adhesives. This way you can be sure you will like the finished look.

There are many scrapbooking kits available now which will help you in finding coordinating papers, cardstocks, and embellishments. This kits are invaluable when you are first starting scrapbooking because they will allow you to put together a fabulous scrapbook quickly. Take help when you can get it!
